From the Chairman of the Board.

Dear Member/Friend of SCAA,

As you will be aware, we have had to take the sad decision to close the Centre for the next few weeks as a result of the current Covid19 health crisis. This has resulted in an immediate stop in income for the charity. Unfortunately, it has not resulted in an immediate stop in the outgoings and liabilities! There are still regular bills that need to be paid, whether we are open or not.

Many of you will be regular attenders at events in the Centre – Friday Live, Seaside Folk, Cinema to name but a few – which are, of course, not happening for the duration of the closure. Income from these and the associated bar takings form the major part of our finances. We do not receive any grant funding from outside organisations except for a small maintenance grant from the Parish Council.

During this time of closure it has been suggested that you might like to donate the equivalent of your monthly expenditure on events to the charity in order to provide some income that will help us to keep going during these difficult times and ensure that we are hopefully in a good position to come back fighting fit and raring to go when this is all over.

I recognise that not everybody will be in a position to support us in this way but every little helps, as they say, so please consider carefully whether you would be able to give something towards the ongoing running costs of the Centre to see us through.

Donations can be in the form of cheques made payable to SC&AA and posted to The Treasurer, Saltburn Community and Arts Association, Albion Terrace, Saltburn-by-the-Sea, Yorkshire, TS12 1JW or by BACS payment or Standing Order to our bank account at Barclays Bank: Saltburn Community and Arts Association, Sort Code; 20-56-78, Account number 03021017.   If paying by BACS, please use your name as the reference.

If you are willing and able to Gift Aid your donation(s) then please send us a postal or email address so that we can forward a form to you.  Alternatively a form can be downloaded from here:  Please make sure you download the Charity form and not the CASC one.  Completed forms should be returned to the Treasurer at the address given above.

Meanwhile, I hope that you and yours are keeping safe and well and that the enforced isolation is not proving too onerous. We look forward to being back soon and being able, once again, to offer this wonderful town of Saltburn and its residents the variety of cultural, educational and entertainment activities that you have come to expect from us.

Thank you for your support

Tony Smith

Generous donations of in excess of £250 will be marked by the provision of a plaque attached to a seat in the auditorium
