Thanks to Art Councils Recovery fund and Tees Valley Combined Authorities Reconnecting Communities Programme, we are now in a position to offer our much loved and missed audience an exciting online music programme – sit back, relax and enjoy!

Our team are still working very hard to open the building when it is safe to do so but in the meantime we have curated an online season that offers a mix of free and paid for content. We introduce our first ever Saltburn Showcase and are proud hosts to The Gathering : Celebrating the Spirit of Vin Garbutt. 

With Saltburn Showcase we continue our Friday night music theme combining Premiere and Express shows every Friday starting 26th February. Expect a quality offer offer of Folk, Classical and Jazz ensuring Friday nights are still full of music!

In March we are over the moon to be hosting The Gathering : Celebrating the Spirit of Vin Garbutt.  Since Vin passed away in 2017, his friends and musical family have ensured that his work and his life have been remembered through a variety of live and recorded tributes. Saltburn Arts, in collaboration with The Wildcats of Kilkenny frontman, Mike McGrother, have created a 4 day event packed with a variety of ways to bring people together – at least in Spirit – and to celebrate the legend that remained Teesside’s friend and champion, Vin Garbutt. And you are all invited to join us!

The first two showcases in the series are are...

Grace Smith 26th February 7pm Tickets £5 (plus 98p booking fee)

Showcase Premiere 

Grace Smith is a folk fiddle and viola player. She has performed at festivals and venues across Europe with Monster Ceilidh Band and the Rachel Hamer Band, and is embarking on her solo career. With a love of English fiddle music and traditional dance, Grace is currently busy seeking out the wonderful melodies found in manuscripts, that are just waiting to be discovered and played, and she will be sharing some of this material in this online concert. Having grown up in Saltburn, she is now based in Derbyshire, working as a performing musician and music educator.

Showcase Express

Thanks to Ryestream Shorts for this exquisite performance by Saltburns very own Soprano of Slow Train. Saltburn-by-the-sea soprano Rowan Pierce received the President’s Award from HRH The Prince of Wales at RCM in 2017, the First Prize & Song Prize at the inaugural Grange Festival International Festival and the first Schubert Society Singer Prize. She was a Rising Star of the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightment and a Harewood Artist at ENO.  She has appeared on the concert platform throughout Europe and in North and South America with leading ensembles including the Academy of Ancient Music, Gabrieli Consort, Freiburg Baroque, Scottish Chamber Orchestra, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, the English Concert, Rotterdam Philharmonic, RLPO and CBSO. She made both her Proms and Wigmore Hall debuts in 2017.
