Aims and Vision

Currently all Saltburn related records, maps and photographs in public ownership are held in collections remote from Saltburn. The creation of a largely digital archive will make the information which charts Saltburn heritage accessable to local people.

This resource will prove a significant leisure and informal educational asset through family history and related past-times. It will play an important part in formal history studies from Keystage 1 to Post-Graduate Level. There is a high level of local interest in this element and it continues to grow.

Phasing

This is planned for phase one of The Works @ Marske Mill. It is expected that the Town Archive will start in the most basic of forms and develop over the initial five years of The Works @ Marske Mill.
