A new touring exhibition, which includes 100 outstanding original wood engravings by Eric Gill, printed between 1929 and 1934, is sweeping across North Yorkshire and is a rare chance to buy his work. Eric Gill (1882-1940) was one of the most colourful figures in early 20th century art, despite the majority of his prints being in black and white. Sculptor, printmaker, typographer and writer, Gill�۪s subject matter swung between the deeply religious and the highly erotic, a direct echo of his eccentric life. This event is open to members of the public, and is part of Saltburn Community Arts Association celebration to mark the centenary of the building. A number of Groups will display work by members (Art, Parchment Craft, Card Craft, Quilting, Knit and Crochet and Photography),and other members will be available to inform visitors about all the activities the U3A has to offer to retired or semi retired members of the community.

A new touring exhibition, which includes over 35 outstanding original etchings by David Hockney, from his famous Grimm�۪s Fairy Tales suite, printed in 1969, is about to come to Saltburn Community and Arts Association and is a rare chance to buy his work. ���Hockney was born in Bradford in 1937 and has since become the most successful British artist of his generation,� says Scarborough based exhibition organiser, Marc Goldmark. “These images are exuberant, inventive and memorable, and he now considers them to be one of his major successes.� FREE ENTRY
